 1.1 Bangalore Palace - Bangalore Palace In Hindi



 The Majestic Bangalore Palace is a symbol of great architecture and beauty.  The palace is currently the central attraction in Bangalore which was built in the year 1878.  The British parents of Chamarajendra Wadiyar bought the original property from their fund in 1873 from the Principal of Bangalore Central High School, Rev, J Garrett.  The palace is spread over 45,000 square feet.  A mixture of Tudor and Scottish Gothic architecture is visible in this palace.  Apart from being a major tourist destination, the palace also provides space for various cultural events, rock shows and weddings.  According to beliefs, King Chamarajendra Wadiyar drew inspiration from London's Windsor Castle to build the palace.  A visit to the palace gives you a chance to see the grandeur of one of the most powerful dynasties of South India.  An audio tape is available inside the palace in both Hindi and English languages, which better explains its history to the people.

 Situated in the center of Albert Victor Road and Krishna Rajendra, is the splendid residence of the illustrious ruler of Mysore- Tipu Sultan.  The palace is located in Bangalore Fort.  The palace is a classic example of Indo-Islamic architecture.  The grand palace was used by the king in summer and is known as 'Abode of Happiness' and 'Rash a Jannat' i.e. 'Jealousy of Heaven'.  The construction of the fort began during the reign of Hyder Ali and was completed in 1791 during the rule of Tipu Sultan.  Recently, a small part of the fort has also been converted into a museum depicting various events of Tipu Sultan's life and times.

 The architectural style of the Bull Temple is predominantly Dravidian and was built by Kempe Gowda.  The statue is 4.5 meters high and 6.5 meters long.  Coconut oil, butter and 'Bene' are regularly applied to this idol.  An interesting fact about this temple is that the idol of Lord Ganesha is completely made of butter!  It takes about 110 kg of butter to make this artistic idol and a new idol is built every four years.  The surprising thing is that in the four-year tenure of each butter sculpture, the butter does not melt or change shape even once.  Butter making the idol of the deity is distributed to devotees in the form of prasadam.
