Kedarnath Temple

New Delhi / Team Digital.  Kedarnath temple is located in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand state of India.  The Kedarnath Temple is one of the four Jamshedras and Panch Kedars, joining the twelve Jyotirlingas in the lap of the Himalayan Mountains in Uttarakhand.  Due to the constantly changing weather here, the temple opens for darshan only in the month of April.

Such things related to Lord Ram, which you may not know…

How did Kedarnath get its name

The name Kedarnath came from where many people have different stories about it, but what is most famous is that this place was named Kedar after the name of King Kedar who ruled in Satyuga.

Kedarnath one of the important shrines

Kedarnath is one of the four important shrines of Hindus, such as Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri.  Lord Shiva is worshiped at Kedarnath.  The Shiva Linga located here is one of the 12 Jyoti Lingas.  Every year thousands of people come here to visit Bhagwan Shiva.  It is said that the Pandavas wanted to get rid of the sin of fratricide when they were victorious in the Mahabharata war.  They wanted to get the blessings of Lord Shankar.  The Pandavas reached the Himalayas, searching for Lord Shiva.  Lord Shankar did not want to give darshan to the Pandavas, so he went to Kedar after being in-depth.

Do this remedy on Akshaya Tritiya, all wishes will be fulfilled

 Kedarnath Baba is quite high

Kedarnath is considered to be the most difficult to reach, as it is situated at an altitude of 11,755 km.  At the same time, there is no direct road connectivity to Kedarnath from any other place.  There are only two ways to get here.  The first one should go on foot, for which you have to travel a long way of 14 km or second, use mules and horses.  However, the third option is a helicopter which can be availed from Dehradun.

The valve is closed for 6 months

The Kedarnath Kapat is closed every year for six months as the snow has started falling in the cold weather and the cold increases.  After this, Akshaya Tritiya is opened for the Kapat Darshan here in the month of April-May.  Meanwhile, Kedarnath Baba is kept at Ukhimath near Guptkashi.  After this, after a three-day walk, Baba Kedar's festive doli reaches Kedardham.

 Five chief priests perform puja

The head men of the Kedarnath temple are from the Veerashaiv community of Karnataka.  He is addressed as Rawal. Rawls do not perform pujas in Kedarnath itself, as would have happened in many other famous temples.  Instead, he instructs other pundits to complete it.  The present temple has Rawal Sri Vajesh Lingacharya.  There are a total of five prominent priests who worship here throughout the year.  Please tell that in 1999, on the recommendation of Rawal, the Dharmacharya of the temple was suspended for absence.

All these measures are mentioned in Shivmahapuran, know what they are

Leaders and actors come to see

Kedarnath Baba hears the call of every devotee and fulfills his wishes.  This is the reason why every year Bollywood stars and politicians come to visit.  In 2008, Bollywood actors Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and politician Amar Singh came and also worshiped Lord Shiva for about an hour.  At the same time, many leaders reached here during the disaster in Kedarnath.

Natural disaster has come many times

The flood accident in Uttarakhand is not the first time that Kedarnath is facing a natural disaster.  Many natural disasters continue to occur in this city, being a mountainous region, the residents face hardship here.  In 2000 and 2001, heavy rains and landslides made it impossible to travel on the route to Kedarnath.  At the same time, in 2003, due to the fiery fire in Rudraprayag, helicopter service had to be stopped for a few days.  In 1991, the glacial erosion caused the small town to be prone to snowstorms and avalanches.  Worse is that a natural disaster happens all the time, blocking telephone lines and walking routes.

Attain heaven by seeing kedarnath baba

People have to face dangerous areas to reach the Kedarnath temple, as it is considered to be one of the most sacred shrines in the Char Dham.  The Shiva Purana states that pilgrims who go to Kedarnath attain heaven and get rid of all their sins.  The water of Kedarnath is given utmost religious importance.  People say that if you drink water after your prayers in the temple, you will get rid of all your sins.

Many people died due to cloudburst

Recently, this small town experienced a large amount of tragedy.  There was heavy damage due to cloudburst in the area.  This natural disaster caused the deaths of thousands of locals and pilgrims.  Let us know that tourists are more in June, so the death rate was very high.  The impact of this flood has been seen elsewhere in Uttarakhand, but due to lack of road in Kedarnath, the disaster was quite terrible.  Although the army succeeded in rescuing the stranded people by carrying out rescue operations, many deaths and injuries were reported during this period.  The main structure of the Kedarnath temple remains intact, while everything around it was destroyed.

 2 percent sex ratio

The sex ratio has always been a topic of discussion in our country, if we talk about Kedarnath, according to the 2001 census, the sex ratio was only 2% in the female population of 479 people.  The literacy rate of males is only 36% compared to 63%.  In Uttarakhand, Rudraprayag numbers 1000 males while 1120 females.
